This silent & grainy footage, taken nearly sixty years ago, shows Richard Dubois (1933-2007) cheerfully posing despite comic interference from a buddy. Strikingly handsome and superbly sculpted, the 6' 1" /220 lb. Dubois was crowned amateur Mr. America in 1954 and Mr. USA three years later. In between, he did a Hollywood musical ("Athena") and toured the country as part of the beefcake backup for Mae West's famous nightclub act. Then, instead of pursuing the muscle-movie careers of Steve Reeves and Lou Degni, he became a born-again Christian, settled into a 47-year marriage (producing a son, Elijah), and spent the last two decades of his life as the much-loved pastor of Santa Monica's Gospel Lighthouse church. (Nearly all the color in this 8mm film clip has now faded away--except for the greenish glow of Dick's shapely posing pouch.) <br />

    Thankyou xychrome. I remembher going to see "Athena" I think it starred Jane Powell. I also remember having to go to the Gents immediately the film finished to get rid of my hard hard hard horny erection!

    Wow! This is an amazing series of clips that give proper reverence to real musclemen in a time when so much about muscle attraction was kept under raps. These guys are amazing. Thanks for posting this.
