This silent & grainy footage, taken nearly sixty years ago, shows Richard Dubois (1933-2007) cheerfully posing despite comic interference from a buddy. Strikingly handsome and superbly sculpted, the 6' 1" /220 lb. Dubois was crowned amateur Mr. America in 1954 and Mr. USA three years later. In between, he did a Hollywood musical ("Athena") and toured the country as part of the beefcake backup for Mae West's famous nightclub act. Then, instead of pursuing the muscle-movie careers of Steve Reeves and Lou Degni, he became a born-again Christian, settled into a 47-year marriage (producing a son, Elijah), and spent the last two decades of his life as the much-loved pastor of Santa Monica's Gospel Lighthouse church. (Nearly all the color in this 8mm film clip has now faded away--except for the greenish glow of Dick's shapely posing pouch.) <br />

    Matt Crouch of TBN fame is his son also. Love child of Jan Crouch also TBN Broadcasting .

    Dick Dubois is the father of Matt Crouch, host and President of TBN. Therefore Matt is the step-son of former TBN owner Paul Crouch (RIP) and the love child of Jan Crouch (RIP).

    Thankyou xychrome. I remembher going to see "Athena" I think it starred Jane Powell. I also remember having to go to the Gents immediately the film finished to get rid of my hard hard hard horny erection!

    His son is Matt Crouch, president of TBN, and love child of Jan Crouch of TBN fame. He looks very much like him.
