Guys like Frank Zane remind us that bodybuilding was always meant to be an art, one where the artist's medium is his own body, and where, as in every art, the hard-won goal is to create some form of beauty. Attempts to do that with a minimum of effort--with short-cuts, if not downright fakery--have little to do with art and everything to do with show business.
Frank didnt have the body that I would get an immediate hardon for. BUT!!! His unhurried style of posing was a real winner. Something else also added to the show. When the posing was n, nobody BUT NOBODY walked across the stage or round the back so that all the focus was on the "performer". How I wish those days would return as presentations seem to get more amateurish as the monetary value for winning goes up.
