When Arnold Schwarzenegger was still a kid back in Austria, one of the photos he stuck on the frame of his mirror to inspire in him his pursuit of bodybuilding glory was of Vic Seipke, whose own career had begun in 1950, when, at the age of 18, he won the Mr. Michigan title. However, it's doubtful that THIS particular shot was the photo in question, for while Doug Juleff (Douglas of Detroit)provided muscle magazines of the day with no end of pix of Vic in trunks & posing pouches, the many nude studies--such as this one--weren't published until decades after they were taken. [I've just posted a brief posing clip of Seipke filmed when he was 23 by Spectrum--in which the family jewels on display here are barely contained by a well-intentioned but somewhat saggy pouch. One thing that the nude poses arguably attest to (as it were) was the apparent absence of steriods in the training regimen of BBs of Seipke's day: the man clearly has balls!]
