To supplement the video I just posted, "From the Golden Age of Trade 16," here's a photo of mid-century bb, LOU MARSHALL. (His first name is sometimes given as "Lew," but his real last name, an Italian one, never appeared with the many photos of him published in such 'physique' magazines of the era such as "Tomorrow's Man, "Vim" and "Champ.") A Jersey native--and proto-Guido--he first posed for Bob Anthony and Eastern Associates, and, when he finally reached California, for Bruce, AMG, Zenith-Apollo, and Pat Milo as well. (As seen here, it was for Milo that he finally shucked the posing strap to reveal just how impressively developed he was.) Since he was an electrician by trade, it's not surprising that, as Bob Mizer said (quoting Tennessee Williams), "he got those colored lights going" in many a mansion in the Hollywood Hills.
