Since that's not a gun, I suppose RICK WAYNE was happy to see us--or, rather, to be seen BY us. As usual, it's not someone's 'sincerely held' attitudes and utterances that are contemptible per se (and he has the right to hold to both, of course), but whether he is a hypocrite in noisily airing them. Reading the rants against "poufs, fairy godmothers, and sugar daddies" etc.in his 1985 book, Muscle Wars, one would never guess he had posed for hundreds of nude photos (by Barrington, Scott of London, Colart, Hussar, Domenique, Arax et al.) during his ascent to BB success. Most, btw, are far more beautiful than this 1961 Barrington study, but I chose it to show that RW clearly Knew What He Was Doing--and for Whom--thus making his florid homophobia a case of fanging the hand that fed him--and undoubtedly jacked him, too (at the very least) whenever funds were running particularly low. His pathetic bigotry huffs & puffs along even now in his native St. Lucia, where, still writing & publishing at the age of 75, he is regarded by most as a tiresome stewpot of envy, spite and implacable resentments.
